Final Destination
I read something recently that touched me greatly. It was from 101 Essays That Will Change The Way You Think by Brianna Wiest that I am reading in my book club.
It presented the fact that we are all racing towards death which is a fact, but in the busyness of living our lives, we forget that. I forget that.
The sun rises each day, and I think everyday is promised. I think everyday will be the same. I think everyday will come, and with it, the same problems, the same defeats, the same things. But the truth is that each day is so different. There is so much that is changing all around us that we don’t take notice of.
I’m getting wiser, in my choices and thoughts. My children are learning how to be independent. My parents are getting older. My siblings are changing. Everyone all around is changing rapidly, and the time is getting shorter to spend.
Yesterday is different from today and will be different from tomorrow.
Just because we have today does not mean that tomorrow will come. We are all going towards one destination, death. And our life is truly right now until that time. And live we must. Enjoy we must.
For tomorrow is not promised.
